Governor Paterson Signs Legislation to Continue Power For Jobs Program

On July 13, 2009, Governor Paterson signs legislation to continue the Power For Jobs (PFJ) Program, a critical economic development program aimed to provide access to lower-cost energy allowing hundreds of New York businesses and nonprofits the opportunity to hire, expand, and achieve more.

Governor David A. Paterson signed a bill into law to continue Power For Jobs (PFJ), a critical economic development program intended to reduce the high costs of electricity for hundreds of New York businesses and not-for-profit organizations.

Modeled after a proposal that Governor Paterson submitted to the State Legislature this year, the legislation authorizes the New York Power Authority (NYPA) continue to provide rebates or low-cost electricity to customers in the PFJ program and another low-cost power program, Energy Cost Savings Benefit (ECSB).
