At Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) Energy Action Day Catherine Luthin was the moderator of a panel of speakers discussing “The First Steps Towards Energy Efficiency”. This panel reviewed how benchmarking and retro-commissioning can be utilized as a foundation for energy projects. The panel provided case studies of successful Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) projects in New York City and strategies to overcome financial barriers to energy efficiency in commercial buildings. The goals for this panel discussion include:

  • Reduce the cost of energy
  • Promote energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gases
  • Improve the environment of the facilities
  • Promote employee satisfaction and productivity
